The pupils of Willow class have been learning about Islam and what it means to be a Muslim living in Britain today. Part of their learning was to think about a message they would like to share with their community and what public building they would put it onto in order to engage the public with their ideas. Some of them chose a school building.

The lesson looked at the work of a young muslim French Tunisian street artist – eL Seed he has created ‘calligraffiti’ . Using his faith, during Ramadan in 2012 he decorated an ancient mosque in Tunisia with words from the Quran about human unity.

The pupils wrote their messages onto the walls in the playground to share with the school community.
