A 3D globe celebrating the work of the Kenyan environmental activist – Wangari Maathai. Wangari became the first African woman and environmentalist to win the Nobel Peace prize. It was created by a local artist – Bryony Benge -Abbott

The globe’s message is to promote reconciliation – the pupils have been looking carefully at the beautiful detail that covers this huge piece and thinking about themes and ways to describe what they see.

We continue to work with all of our hearts for inclusion for all and to give our pupils the ‘Windows’ to look through into the world to promote curiosity and to ask questions.

We asked the pupils to take a close look at the globe. What colours did they see? What images did they find in the patterns painted on the globe?
