Chestnut Class have been learning all about Mountains and Volcanoes. To the left the group created a volcanic explosion. They learnt that the magma shoots out of the vent and then forms a layer of rock. This is how a volcano is formed.

They have also been learning how fold mountains are formed (see above). Termeh also investigated how mountain ranges are formed. To the left they were making clay mountains to help draw a topographic map. This helped them understand how to spot a mountain or volcano on a map.
